From the Stone Age to the present day, Sandwell has a rich and diverse heritage. Each of the borough's six towns are as individual as their residents, and have produced engineers, architects and artists who not only helped to shape the future of the local region, but both the rest of the UK and the World.
Now residents and visitors can enjoy many of its historical and cultural attractions by using specially created heritage trails. |

Sandwell faith trail
An introductory tour of some landmark
religious buildings & communities in Sandwell
Sandwell has a wealth of Faith Heritage Buildings and Communities. This Faith Trail is designed to be an introduction to the history, beliefs and locations of the main faith groups in Sandwell. There are of course many other places of worship and many other religious and spiritual groups in Sandwell. By opening the doors of Faith Buildings, we are assisting communities to deepen their understanding of each other and celebrate their identity and achievements together. Some faiths do not have venues in Sandwell and therefore could not be included in the trail.
